Malinovskii Ioanikii Aleksieevich (04 (16). ХІ.1868, Ostroh of Volyn guberniya – 12. І. 1932, Kyiv) – historian of law, legal scholar, academician of All-Ukrainian Academy of Sciences (Ukr. Abbr. “VUAN”). Malinovskii studied in Ostroh gymnasium, then in Pavlo Galagan’s Collegium in Kyiv. Graduated from faculty of law of Kyiv St. Volodymyr University in 1892. From 1898 till 1911 he was professor of sub-department of history of Russian law faculty of law in Tomsk University. From 1913 till 1915 – extraordinary professor of sub-department of history of Russian law faculty of law in Warsaw University. After the occupation of Warsaw by the German Army in the summer of 1915, Malinovskii together with the University was evacuated to Rostov-on-Don, where the University was reformed as Donskoy University. On the 30 of June 1920 Malinovskii was arrested by DonCheka and accused of counter-revolution. On the 24 of July 1920 Malinovskii was extrajudicially (by DonCheka) sentenced to capital punishment. But later capital punishment was commutationed (changed) in 15 years of deprivation of liberty (imprisonment), and after amnesty in May 1921 it was commuted to 5 years of deprivation of liberty. From September 1921 Malinovskii worked in The Institute of Soviet Law under The People’s Commissariat of Justice of Russian Socialist Federative Soviet Republic. From the 1 July 1922 till February 1924 Malinovskii served deprivation of liberty in Ivanovsky Correctional camp in Moscow. In the April of 1925 Malinovskii second time was elected as academician of All-Ukrainian Academy of Sciences. In January 1926 he removed to Kyiv and start his scientific researches.
